Why We Do What We Do

Serving others leads to changed lives. The biblical view of the Church has always been an evangelizing, missionary church. Mission keeps us vital. GlobalRM seeks to bring that vitality to our home parish as we take our gifts and blessings abroad.

We have partnered with two exceptional organizations to build our world missions. For our Adult mission to Honduras, we have partnered with Franciscan University of Steubenville. Franciscan University has been traveling to these two communities in Honduras for 15 years. Deacon Mike Mims partnered with them for four years, attending their annual Spring Break mission week. 2014 saw the first St. Anthony's mission trip led by Deacon Mims to complement the work of Franciscan.

For our Youth and Young Adult mission trip to Haiti, we work with Life Teen. Life Teen has been building and funding this Haiti Mission Base for years. It serves as a point of outreach to the local area as well as an orphanage for children in the diocese. We recently hosted the priest at the Life Teen Mission Base, Fr. Louis Merosne, here at our parish as the presenter for our Lenten Parish Mission in 2015.

Building the Kingdom means working for liberation from evil in all its forms. In a word, the Kingdom of God is the manifestation and the realization of God’s plan of salvation in all its fullness.
— Pope John Paul II, Redemptoris Missio
An evangelizing community gets involved by word and deed in people’s daily lives; it bridges distances, it is willing to abase itself if necessary and it embraces human life, touching the suffering flesh of Christ in others. Evangelizers thus take on the “smell of the sheep” and the sheep are willing to hear their voice.
— Pope Francis, Evangelii Gaudium

Mission Honduras (Adults)

Two villages, Mirador and La Colonia, are set in the extremely remote and impoverished area of the mountain jungles in Honduras. They suffer from a lack of healthcare, sacramental access and spiritual nourishment.

Our goal is simple: we are committed to a sustainable mission that brings medical, sacramental, and catechetical help to transform lives and whole communities.

Solidarity knows no borders as Christ sends us “to the ends of the earth.”

Mission Haiti (Youth & Youth Ministry Families)

Jesus calls each of us to be a missionary. If you are a Senior graduating this year or young adult we invite you to discern how Christ might be calling you to serve for one week as a missionary in Haiti. We are also inviting Families of Youth Ministry teens to go and serve over Spring Break

Mission to Haiti is life changing experience - for the people of Haiti, and also for those who go as missionaries. We spend a week serving and ministering to the people of Haiti while stationed at Life Teen's Mission Base in Haiti.
